Hommage à Juan Genovés

I took this photograph in the 8^th district of Budapest. Running people-shadows immediately reminded me on the famous Spanish contemporary artist Juan Genovés. In 1976 when I first saw his works I was stroked by the strength of his running silhouettes which obviously symbolised the political oppression across the world, particularly in Latin America in that time. Genovés’ canvases I’ve always seen as concise, one frame films by Costa Gavras.
